Andrew Stevens writes contemporary literary fiction, often with a dark, wryly comic edge. He is a recent graduate of Bath Spa University’s Master’s Degree in Creative Writing programme.
To date, he has completed five novels, two of which achieved a number one ranking on Harper Collins’ authonomy website. The Thickness of Blood was a runner-up in both the 2012 Legend Press Luke Bitmead Bursary and 2015 Blackfriars Books Open Submission Competition, was Highly Commended in 2014’s Harry Bowling Prize and shortlisted for 2016’s Impress Prize. Drop Dead Gorgeous was longlisted for the 2014 Bath Novel Award and shortlisted for the 2014 City University London Crime Writing Bursary, while Filthy Luca was longlisted for 2014’s Cinnamon Press Debut Novel Prize and shortlisted for both the 2014 Flash500 Novel Competition and 2015 Kobo Writing Life/Silverwood Books Novel Prize. The Finca was a semi-finalist in 2014’s Black Balloon Publishing Horatio Nelson Fiction Prize.
In 2015 he was a beneficiary under the terms of The Literary Consultancy’s Arts Council England funded Free Reads Scheme.
