Above you can see the rather excellent cover for the Turkish edition of James P. Blaylock‘s HOMUNCULUS. The first Langdon St. Ives novel, it is published in Turkey by Kassandra Yayıncılık. Aficionados will notice that it is a reworking of original Ace Books cover, published in 1986, when it also won the Philip K. Dick Award. The novel was re-issued by Titan Books in 2013, along with LORD KELVIN’S MACHINE and the never-before-published THE AYLESFORD SKULL.
Here’s the English-language synopsis for HOMUNCULUS…
It is the late 19th century and a mysterious airship orbits through the foggy skies. Its terrible secrets are sought by many, including the Royal Society, a fraudulent evangelist, a fiendish vivisectionist, an evil millionaire and an assorted group led by the scientist and explorer Professor Langdon St. Ives. Can St. Ives keep the alien homunculus out of the claws of the villainous Ignacio Narbondo?
In June 2015, Titan are due to publish the next new Langdon St. Ives novel, BENEATH LONDON. Below are the Titan covers.
