Beatrijs Brouwer is an illustrator and comic artist from the Netherlands. She grew up moving between countries, which spurred on a love of climbing into books for travel companions and drawing as a way of processing the world around her. It also sparked a fascination for folklore and fantasy, as fuel for both reading and drawing.

Bea’s comics, made in ink and watercolour, feature all kinds of creatures, including stories about shapeshifting fox sisters, world-jumping cats, and tiny cat-shaped plant guardians. You can take a look at her artwork over on her website or Instagram.

She lives in Bristol with her partner and a hoard of plants and comics/books and teas/coffees and tiny statues of critters because it is impossible to resist a minuscule dragon with slightly lopsided eyes and a doleful expression even if your shelves already have many inhabitants.
