On June 15th, Titan Books is due to publish the next novel by Jack Campbell: BOUNDLESS. The first novel in the latest Lost Fleet series, Outlands, sees Black Jack Geary return to the story. Here’s the synopsis…

Black Jack returns to Unity, the seat of the Alliance government, having destroyed the black fleet of AI-controlled craft at Unity Alternate. Aboard the Dauntless, captained by his wife Tanya Desjani, he brings evidence of crimes which could destroy the Alliance’s government.

ICYMI: Josh Winning’s THE SHADOW GLASS Acquired by Titan Books!

In case you missed the news from Bookseller earlier in the week: Titan Books has acquired World English rights to Josh Winning‘s THE SHADOW GLASS from Zeno Associate Agent Kristina Pérez!

The novel is pitched as ‘Dark Crystal meets About a Boy in a race against the clock to stop bloodthirsty puppets from taking over the world’, and has been described as ‘a witty and loving tribute to the history of cinema, wrapped up in a latter-day coming-of-age story about the legacy of family’. It is due to be published in March 2022.

Titan Editor Craig Leyenaar had this to say about the novel:

‘I absolutely adored THE SHADOW GLASS from the first page, filled with nods and winks to classic fantasy films where the ordinary becomes the extraordinary and the everyman becomes the hero. Today, we want to draw your attention to Jack Campbell‘s acclaimed, best-selling Lost Fleet series, which turns ten this year! Published by Titan Books in the UK, the books are superb military science fiction, the series has expanded to include two spin-off series and a prequel series.

The original series contains six novels: DAUNTLESS, FEARLESS, COURAGEOUS, VALIANT, RELENTLESS, and VICTORIOUS. In case you’ve never had the pleasure of reading the series, here’s the synopsis for the first book…

Today, Titan Books publishes LOW ACTION, the highly-anticipated fifth novel in Andrew Cartmel‘s acclaimed Vinyl Detective series! Originally slated for a May 2020 release, it was unfortunately delayed until now. But the wait is now over! Here’s the synopsis…

The best of these, such as Beneath London, Lord Kelvin’s Machine, andThe Aylesford Skull are among the most stylish, consistently witty entertainments of recent years. The Gobblin’ Society, the latest episode in St. Ives’s colorful career, belongs very much in that company.

The story begins with an inheritance. Following a protracted legal battle, Alice St. Ives, Langdon’s wife, has come into full possession of Seaward, the house left to her by her late Uncle Godfrey, a man with a number of bizarre proclivities. Heartened by this good fortune, Alice, Langdon and their surrogate son Finn prepare to take possession of the house. From this point forward, events spin out of control, taking on a madcap logic of their own that is exhilarating and — in typical Blaylock fashion — often quite funny. 

What follows is, in a sense, a tale of two houses. The first, of course, is Seaward, a “rambling, eccentric old house” with it its history, its secrets, its priceless accumulation of volumes of arcane lore. The other is a neighboring house known, for good reasons, as “Gobblin’ Manor,” home base of The Gobblin’ Society, a “culinary establishment” with its own peculiar — and very dark — traditions. In the course of an event filled few days, St. Ives and his cohorts will encounter smuggling, mesmerism, kidnapping, cannibalism and murder. It is, in other words, a typical — and typically eccentric — Langdon St. Ives adventure.

Like its predecessors, this latest extravaganza is fast-paced, unpredictable, and a thorough delight to read. Few novelists evoke the essence of Victorian England as successfully as Blaylock. Fewer still bring such wit, style, and propulsive narrative talents to the task. In The Gobblin’ Society, Blaylock has given vibrant new life to one of his signature creations. The result is a gift both for Blaylock’s longtime fans, and for newcomers lucky enough to come along for this astonishing — and thoroughly enjoyable — ride.

The release of the final novel in Christopher Husberg‘s acclaimed Chaos Queen Quintet fantasy series has been unfortunately delayed until August 4th, 2020.
