Andrew Cartmel‘s critically-acclaimed Vinyl Detective series returns in May with FLIP BACK! The fourth novel in the series, it is due to be published in the UK and US by Titan Books on May 14th. Here’s the synopsis…

At the height of their success, the electric folk band Black Dog invited journalists to a desolate island for an infamous publicity stunt: the burning of a million dollars. But the stunt backfired and the band split up, increasing the value of their final album vastly. It’s this album that Tinkler’s got his eye on, and he hires none other than the Vinyl Detective and Nevada to hunt a copy down.

Paperback RUN-OUT GROOVE out tomorrow in the US!

The mass market paperback edition of Andrew Cartmel‘s THE RUN-OUT GROOVE is published tomorrow by Titan Books in the US! The second novel in the Vinyl Detective series, here’s the synopsis…

His first adventure consisted of the search for a rare record; his second begins with the discovery of one. When a mint copy of the final album by “Valerian” — England’s great lost rock band of the 1960s — surfaces in a charity shop, all hell breaks loose.

Finding this record triggers a chain of events culminating in our hero learning the true fate of the singer Valerian, who died under equivocal circumstances just after — or was it just before? — the abduction of her two-year-old son.

Along the way, the Vinyl Detective finds himself marked for death, at the wrong end of a shotgun, and unknowingly dosed with LSD as a prelude to being burned alive. And then there’s the grave robbing…

But he does find out what happened to the missing child, and it wasn’t what anyone expected — or wanted — to hear.

Jack Campbell’s Genesis Fleet’s upcoming, TRIUMPHANT return!

In May, Titan Books are due to published TRIUMPHANT, the third novel in Jack Campbell‘s Genesis Fleet series! A prequel series to the author’s best-selling and critically-acclaimed Lost Fleet series, here’s the synopsis…

The recently colonized world of Glenlyon has learned that they’re stronger when they stand with other star systems than they are on their own. But after helping their neighbor Kosatka against an invasion, Glenlyon has become a target. The aggressive star systems plan to neutralize Glenlyon before striking again.

An attack is launched against Glenlyon’s orbital facility with forces too powerful for fleet officer Rob Geary to counter using their sole remaining destroyer, Saber. Mele Darcy’s Marines must repel repeated assaults while their hacker tries to get into the enemy systems to give Saber a fighting chance.

To survive, Glenlyon needs more firepower, and the only source for that is their neighbor Kosatka or other star systems that have so far remained neutral. But Kosatka is still battling the remnants of the invasion forces on its own world, and if it sends its only remaining warship to help will be left undefended against another invasion. THE PRIVILEGE OF PEACE, the third novel in Tanya Huff‘s acclaimed Peacekeeper series is out today in the UK! Published by Titan Books, here’s the synopsis…

Former space marine Torin Kerr returns for one final adventure to save the Confederation in the last book in the military science fiction Peacekeeper trilogy.

And if all this sounds simple, it’s only because we haven’t mentioned drive-by shootings, murderous neo-Nazis, or that slight case of being buried alive…

Andrew only recently joined the Zeno stable. The first three novels were sold to Titan by the Blake Friedmann Ltd. We represent the novels in translation, however, so wanted to share news of this novel’s release. We will have news about certain translation editions in the not-too-distant future. Andrew is also the co-author, with Ben Aaronovitch, of the Rivers of London comic series — based on the characters in Ben’s Peter Grant series of novels.
